Kinetic Games has announced the release date for Chronicle, calling it “the biggest update” yet for the cooperative horror survival game Phasmophobia. The update will be available in early access on PC, as well as on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, starting June 24.
This update is intended to revolutionize the investigation system by expanding the investigation process with three new types of evidence. One of these is the Sound Recorder, a device that captures paranormal sounds and responses from the Spirit Box. This will add another layer of immersion and tension to the gaming experience.

In addition to these features, the Journal will be completely redesigned. The “Photo” section will be replaced with a “Media” section, where players can store photos, videos, and audio recordings. This update will facilitate the organization and access of collected evidence. The progression and rewards system will also undergo significant changes: The first collected evidence will be labeled as “Unique,” offering more XP and money, while duplicate evidence will provide smaller rewards.

The update will also bring a new main menu, more technical optimizations, and “many spooky surprises” that will be revealed later. Additionally, this update lays the groundwork for a future remake of the Grafton Farmhouse map.
